Montessori at Hampstead Farmers: Some of Alamaba's cutest toddlers visit the farm!

First it was a dream, then it was a concept, now it’s a reality. The Montessori School at Hampstead has incorporated a farm-to-table class into their curriculum. Working with the Hampstead Institute under the leadership of Edwin Marty, the students at MSH meet once a week in the barn at the Hampstead community on the outskirts of Montgomery, AL. In typical Montessori fashion, they learn in a holistic fashion. Science, biology, chemistry, botany, among other subjects, all come together as they experiment with soil, plant seeds, clear beds of weeds, compost, harvest produce, and even cook at one of the community restaurants with the vegetables and herbs they harvest. Each week one of the students will talk about what they did and what he or she learned. Join us.
